Training at the Trough

Home > What’s on > Training at the Trough

A workplace based catering project tailored to meet the needs of adults living with learning disabilities.

Help us manage our popular community cafe, The Trough. You will be an active member of the cafe team, delivering friendly customer service, delicious food and maintaining a high level of food hygiene and safety. With the support of our experienced staff members you will set and achieve personal goals, as well as the opportunity to gain a professional qualification in Level 2 Food Hygiene. Activites include: taking orders, serving customers, handling payments, completing stock checks and preapring and making food.

Tuesday and Friday’s sessions are spent behind the scenes in the kitchen, where you will prepare produce to be sold in the cafe.

I enjoy coming to the farm as it gives me a purpose and I get to meet people.
