Brendan Tate Wistreich

Farm Director

Brendan joined in 2021, having worked previously for a national environmental campaigning organisation and community development organisations in Bristol. He has an MSc in strategic Leadership towards Sustainability and is currently studying a Business Masters at Bath University. He is passionate about bringing more people into connection with nature food and farming through the Farm and helping it to remain impactful and connected to its community.

Thomas Sheppard

Chair of Trustees

Thomas lives in the Bath area with his family. He is a practising solicitor who has held both professional and management roles in a major law firm. Thomas has been actively involved with charities and not for profit organisations such as Bath Preservation Trust, Dorothy House, RICE, the Arnolfini and Bath Festivals. Thomas has held local roles such as President of the local Law Society, parish councillor and Chair of the Council of Management at the University of Bath. He was High Sheriff of Somerset and is currently a member of the PCC of Bath Abbey and the Chapter of Wells Cathedral. He was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Somerset in 2022.

Cerys Blades

Trustee

Cerys is a local resident, who visits the Farm regularly with her young family. She’s passionate about helping the Farm to continue to support the surrounding community, and to provide positive and nurturing experiences for all who visit. She is a Chartered Company Secretary with 10 years’ experience across the Financial Services and not-for-profit sector.

Chris Button

Trustee

Chris moved to Bath as a student in 1989 and coordinated volunteer students in raising over £60k for local charities. She worked in the building industry as a mechanical engineer and then moved into hospital buildings development. She has over 20 years’ experience in heath and care and now works at NHS England, supporting improvements across the south west. Christina is happiest when outdoors and active and loves the welcoming feeling of community that the Farm provides.

Tamsin Egan

Trustee

Tamsin has been a teacher for 25 years in and around Bath where she lives with her family. She is a keen gardener and allotment holder. She loves combining her passion for education and growing here at the farm where she supports the children and young people team.

Gwen James

Trustee

Gwen has over 15 years’ experience delivering services in the charity sector, and she currently leads on volunteering best practice for a national charity. She lives locally to the Farm and is excited to be able to support a place which means a lot both to her and the local community.

Amanda Loran

Trustee

Amanda has lived in and around Bath for the past 20 years with her husband, and their son. Throughout this time, she has held several senior management positions in the legal sector and is currently the Finance Director of Stone King, a national law firm that supports charities, social enterprises, public benefit organizations, and education providers. She is excited to support Bath City Farm, by offering her experience in finance and governance to help the Farm to continue to thrive and benefit the community.

Alex Perkins

Trustee

Alex has been a vet for 20 years, living in Somerset after time in the Midlands, Devon, Liverpool, Uganda and Morocco. Her loves are her family, coastal walks, open water swimming, good food, sunshine and a good book. When not at work she is mostly found on the sidelines of a hockey pitch, athletics track, riding school, or helping her husband on his family farm. This will be her first role as a trustee. She has enjoyed seeing Bath City Farm grow over the years and is overwhelmed with all the achievements and aspirations of the team.

Mark Richardson

Treasurer

Mark is a retired Chartered Accountant that has lived in Bath for over 35 years. He has been a trustee since 2019, concentrating on financial issues. The Farm is the most wonderful place he knows in Bath and he feels that it is fantastic to play a small part in its growth and development, as it is so important to so many people’s lives. Mark also volunteers for Bath Foodbank.

Phillipa Rogers

Trustee

Philippa spent her career in the Civil Service, first with the UK’s research councils, and then with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, including working in Japan, China, Algeria and USA. Philippa has returned to Bath, her hometown, and is excited about contributing to the work of the Farm.

Jo Southwell

Trustee

Jo is a qualified HR and Organisational Development professional, who has worked primarily in the NHS for 25 plus years. She is proud to support the Farm, it is a very significant place for her. Jo grew up in the local area and recognises how important it is to have such an amazing resource in the community.

Mike Williams

Trustee

Mike is a local resident with over 25 years’ experience in ecology, holds a degree Environmental Biology, a Masters in Ecology and has 10 years’ experience as an ecological consultant. He has recorded over 1000 species on Bath City Farm and aids the Farm with improving the land for wildlife.
