We are currently a group of 8 trustees who have responsibility for overseeing the work of the Farm. Bath City Farm is both a charity (so the board members are trustees) and a company limited by guarantee (so the board members are the directors of the company).
Late last year we looked at the broad range of skills and considerable experience we bring to the board (you can read about our backgrounds using this link: https://bathcityfarm.org.uk/about-us/board-of-trustees/ ). However, the key area where nobody brings the same level of knowledge and experience is finance, so we’re looking for an additional trustee who shares our passion for continuing the great work of the Farm, but who would bring those additional skills and take a lead in money matters.
As you know from other posts on this Blog, finances are always tight for a voluntary organisation like the Farm, and they look like becoming tighter in the next year. It’s all the more important that we are able to manage our budgets as well as possible, and that’s where we need the extra professional knowledge, skills and judgement. Ideally, we think we’re looking for a qualified or part-qualified accountant, but if you have many years’ experience in managing the finances of a business (for example, as a finance director or an accounting technician) then you might be just the person for us.
Interested? Could you get in touch with our office at info@bathcityfarm.org and we can arrange for you to have a chat with Arabella (our current chair), Deborah (our current Treasurer) or to meet with one of the trustees at the Farm.
