Description

Handmade from beautiful offcuts of larch wood by our Roots to Work trainees.

Roots to Work  began two years ago at Bath City Farm, and sees trainees go through a six-month gentle employability programme, aimed at those who have never worked and those who have had time out and need support to return to the workforce. 

Hand making Robin houses allows new skills to be developed with hand tools, communication and working as a team. 

A Roots to Work trainee said:  

“Roots to Work has definitely transformed my life for the better. The skills I’ve learned, the confidence I’ve built. I went from not being able to do very much on my own, to now coming to the group every week on my own, communicating with people and really enjoying what I am doing, and it’s meant that I can take those skills into other workplaces.”
